Airport Information and Hertz Car Hire Locations
Most of Germany's major towns and cities have international airports providing transport for tourists and business people flying to and from the country. The majority of tourist traffic is outward bound flying to Spain and the Greek islands which are very popular holiday destinations for the Germans. The busiest airport in Germany is Frankfurt am Main in the western central region in the country. With passenger figures of ove 50 million it ranks ninth in the World and third in Europe. Germany's second busiest airport is Munich with over 30 million passengers followed by Dusseldorf with over 16 million and Berlin - Tegel with nearly 12 million. The capital of Germany, Berlin has two main airports, Tegel and Schonefeld. Work is under way to build a new single airport for Berlin which will be called Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport and be located at the current site of Schonefeld Airport. Berlin's Tegel will close in 2011.

Hertz provide car hire outlets from over twenty airports in Germany. There are Hertz offices at all the major airports including Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Berlin's Tegel and Schonefeld. There are also branches at the smaller airports including Niederrhein, Bremen, Dortmund, Lubeck, Baden Baden and Friedrichshafen. All Hertz outlets have rental fleets with vehicles to suit all occasions and budgets. These range from small and family hatchbacks to prestige saloons and sports cars. For larger parties Hertz provide six and seven seater people-carriers and mini-buses and there are also more specialist vehicles available such as convertibles and
4 x 4 SUVs. Automatic transmission is available on selected models and air-conditioning is now standard on most rental vehicles.

Hertz provide an online booking service enabling customers to select and reserve their ideal transport before departure. This saves time on arrival at their destination airport plus there are discounts for booking in advance online. For Hertz quotations and bookings simply record the Airport IATA code from the table below and proceed to the Hertz website.
